THE FAMILY PLAN

In my opinion, this film, unexpectedly, brought MARK WAHLBERG right back on track! After starring in big budgeted films that didn't seem to fit well like TRANSFORMERS and UNCHARTED, Mark has worked in a lot films lately that is not totally bad but somewhat forgettable.

This one breaks the curse. 

The Family Plan on the other hand, is a feel-good family oriented movie with lots of action just like every action hero actor's signature "outside the norm" film. Everyone's got at least one: Jacky Chan (The Spy Next Door), Vin Diesel (The Pacifier), Arnold Schwarzenegger (Kindergarten Cop), Dwayne Johnson (The Game Plan), Dave Bautista (My Spy), etc.

Films like these are usually fun and shows the softer side of the actor's hardened personas.

Anyway, the story of The Family Plan is pretty much generic but it does put Mark Wahlberg on the spotlight better than his other recent films. You take a bunch of seriously "not funny" people and place them in a series of hilarious situations - and then it becomes a circus. This is what the entire film is all about.

The Family Plan also stars Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Maggy Q, Ciaran Hinds and Said Taghmaoui. Released last December 15 on Apple TV+.
