ELVIS 2022
Baz Luhrmann's Elvis biopic is a true work of art. The hyperrealism for which the filmmaker is known for is very evident in this film. I am giving Austin Butler a solid A for his effort in portraying the rock and roll legend but my acting award trophy will have to go to Tom Hanks as the infamous Colonel Parker. My big take away from this film is that we are all prisoners - some get to choose their prison while some don't. We can never really be free, we just switch from one prison to another. Is your prison better than others? That will depend entirely on how you see it.
