THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL 2022
Directed by Paul Feig leads the screen adaptation of the 2013 best selling novel series of the same title written by American author Soman Chainani. It follows the same old agenda of twisting myths and fairy tales, creating grey areas on binaries and thwarting the oversimplified notion of a happy ever after. The story is very familiar but it is by far the best from its genre. Feig treated this anti-"fairy tale" tale with respect. Stars Sophia Ann Caruso (Sophie) and Sofia Wylie (Agatha) did a tremendous job in portraying their roles. And the presence of veterans Charlize Theron (Lady Lesso), Michelle Yeoh (Anemone), Kerry Washington (Dovey), and Lawrence Fishbourne (School Master) gave this film added flavor to keep you interested enough to finish it. Not much of a fairy tale fan but this is a yeay for me.
