Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events 2004 
Probably Jim Carrey's most underrated performance as a serious actor and as a comedian, I would easily place Jim Carrey's portrayal of the sinister Count Olaf on the top 5. Now the movie adaptation of the first three novels of the popular book series may not be a 100% loyal to the original writing (no adaptation is) but it's actually a very clever attempt to make it into a good stand alone film without needing to push for sequels that are based on the other novels. This is also far better and more amusing than the 2017 Netflix series.
