Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019)
It's the Pop version of the Fast & Furious franchise. The spin-off follows the same F&F formula of fast-paced action and family drama but misses out on some details like injecting urgency in scenes specially with regards to the viral infection - I was hoping for a little bit of that Tom Cruise ticking time bomb M:I excitement.
Also, this movie feels a little bit of what's happening right now in the world except that the virus is not called snowflake but SARS-CoV 2 and that the real-life Hobbs & Shaw probably failed because we already have a Pandemic.
"You know what this virus is? This virus is a necessary shock to the system!" said badguy Brixton in the movie played by Idris Elba.
Sadly, Idris Elba BTW is SARS-CoV 2 positive 🙁
Here's another quote from the movie that I like, a conversation between Brixton and Hattie Shaw played by Vanessa Kirby:
Brixton 👉 You don’t get it, do you? You know, the weak deal with money. We deal with evolutionary change. Change that sometimes require acts of violence.
Hattie Shaw 👉 Like killing innocent people with viruses?
Brixton 👉 Only the weak ones. We’re dealing with the future of the planet. Things that money cannot buy.
Hattie Shaw 👉 Oh, like your soul back.
