From an economic standpoint, the problem with POGO really is policy. If it employs more Filipino workers (80/20 ratio perhaps), if stricter screening process for foreign Nationals working here in the Philippines are in placed, if we have a clear policy on limiting the number of POGO outlets in the country, and if government agencies get off their butts to enforce these policies... Then maybe, we could still have a WIN-WIN situation.
But as a matter of principle, I really don't think we should be HOSTING any forms of legalized gambling from other countries here in the Philippines. Tumataya ako sa lotto minsan, but that's different. PCSO is ours and the fund it generates goes directly to the government and the people. What we get from POGO are just taxes! Ang Pinoy na talagang kumikita lang dyan ay yun mga tao sa taas na may under-the-table. ð✌️

Can I share some personal reflections?
In the story of David and Goliath, it is my understanding that David did not defeat Goliath by his sling and stones but with GOD.
"This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down; and I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all this assembly may know that God saves not with sword and spear; for the battle is God's, and he will give you into our hand."
I am not sharing this out of fear but only to show with conviction that there is HOPE with GOD. And with GOD nothing is impossible.
Be humble, stand firm, believe! IF we have GOD on our side, we will defeat this Goliath.

Not sure if this will be feasible pero nag brainstorming kami ng sarili ko dahil wala ako magawa and na imagine namin na baka pwede to. ð Gawin kaya natin na temporary city-wide community quarantine to better isolate the virus, faster.
ð Lockdown should be by City or Municipality, National government to assist with additional emergency funds aside from the calamity funds
ð Set up borders and check points, mobilize local PNP to enforce lockdown
ð Strict home quarantine on weekends, curfew hours implemented on weekdays to restrict movements
ð Suspend inter-city public transportation but allow in-city transportation only on weekdays off curfew hours
ð Mobilize local government task force for an intensified 24/7 strategic testing and isolation of PUI via zones or districts
ð Create a central quarantine and treatment facility, appoint only one location to minimize exposure or risk of spreading the virus (in-hospital or in a makeshift quarantine facility like in one covered court)
ð Provide safety gears to frontliners as well as city service personnels like garbage collectors, street sweepers, and drivers
ð Work arrangements includes - work from home, stay-in employees, mandatory allowances for employees on forced leave due to the quarantine and lockdown
ð Only essentials will be open - groceries, drug stores, hardwares, and those in the food and food distribution industry only on weekdays
ð Strict implementation of social distancing procedures especially in public transportation - offer subsidies on fuel for drivers who's income will be affected and to encourage them to continue their service
ð Local government task force to distribute masks, alcohol, supplements, medicines and other supplies to households
ð Suspend all domestic and international flights as well as sea travel except for those carrying goods and essentials
ð Once cleared, gradual lifting of quarantine will be done: 1) Metro Manila 2) regional 3) resumption of travel by air and sea

For all unauthorized (not exempted) individuals who needs to go out to buy food and essentials, please be reminded of the 8am to 10am and 3pm to 5pm window period. Individuals seen out after the window period will be reprimanded. Also, those coming out are mandated to bring with them any form of identification always.
We are cooperating, and also praying that those in authority will be able to handle this crisis fast and effectively so that everything will be back to normal soon.

I don't want to sound ungrateful but WHAT IF instead of offering a 30-day extension on utility bills and bank loans, how about offering to divide and spread the March dues to a 3-month fixed payment scheme added on top of bills due on April, May and June.
Kasi para sa mga walang kikitain ngayong March dahil sa community quarantine, napakabigat kung magpapatong ang dalawang bills sa isang payment period. So parang di ka nga mapuputulan ng tubig, kuryente o internet ngayong March pero sure ako sa April putol yan kasi kulang din ang pambayad mo.

QUESTION: HOW WOULD YOU KNOW IF METRO MANILA (OR LUZON) IS NOW COVID-19 FREE?
Our baranggay claims that we are SARS CoV 2 FREE and attributes it to the strict implementation of the community lockdown procedures (which is fine) but I wonder how they were able to come out with that conclusion when NO TESTS have been conducted (not even at random) in our place?
Please don't tell me that tests are being done only to PUIs because we have community transmission already.
I remember that CoVid-19 can be asymptomatic - which means that you might be carrying and spreading the virus without you knowing it, right? So what is the state doing to identify SARS CoV 2 positives?
I also remember PDUTs saying that "We have the money" in his speech so I guess we really don't have a problem when it comes to testing kits right?
So there's no reason why we can't provide tests down to the Baranggay level to be sure right?
Kahit one (1) per household so that we can already say which Baranggay, zone or even city is already cleared?
I think now is the best time to do these tests and the clearing since we are on Home Quarantine. Kelan pa gagawin yun tests pag lifted na ang quarantine? ð
Also I don't object to politicians being tested for SARS CoV 2 but I wish that they'd do the same down to the grassroots! ð

Some call it a necessary cleansing for Mother Earth. To me, a humbling realization that even with all our MONEY, POWER, SCIENCE and POLITICS combined we humans are still no match to a single mindless microorganism. History tells us this lesson time and time again, heck we've got a whole library of movies of the same plot. And yet, here we are face to face with something beyond our own understanding again.
GOD is also beyond our own understanding! There's a reason why all these are happening and I believe that God's ways are higher than ours. God is actually our big gun! So right now, I'm putting all my FAITH in him. Not in aliens, technology and definitely not in politicians.

I believe in compassion but I also believe that ignorance of the law (or ordinance) excuses no one.
We live in Manila. We are neither Covid-19 Positive, PUI nor PUM but we are told to STAY AT HOME. We haven't been tested yet. We were told to strictly follow that only one representative in the family can go out from 8am to 10am and 3pm to 5pm provided that you bring with you the quarantine pass. We can't even go outside of the City. We also follow a strict curfew that starts at 8pm and anyone caught outside will be taken to a holding area for non-compliance. Social distancing is also observed anywhere. All these we follow for almost two weeks now and we are slowly running out of money since we are also unable to go out and work.
Koko and his family had the privilege of being tested first as a VIP and all he needed to do as a good law-abiding (and responsible) citizen is to stay in the comforts of his own home and wait for the result to come out while he still gets paid like all of you Fs self-entitled, power-tripping supposed-to-be public servants.
So, Dick, Panelo and DOJ! You can just go screw yourselves! If your sons and daughters are working at MMC at the time when the incident happened, I'm sure you fools will issue a different statement!
